미국:멕시코 국경수비대와 부시
멕시코, 뜨거운 태양과 선인장 그리고 큰 차양 모자를 쓰고기타 들고 노래 부르는 정도의 이미지를 갖는 정도의 땅, American Dream을 꿈꾸며 미국으로 국경을 넘는수많은 불법이민자들의 모습은 생각지를 않지요. 비교적 경비가 뜸한 사막지역을 통해서 국경을 넘으려고수십 킬로미터에 달하는 거리를 걸어서 가다 죽는 사람도 부지기수고, 설령 밀입국이 성공했다고 해도 불법이민자라는 신분 때문에기다리고 있는 것은 저임금과 고되고 힘든 일. 이렇게 멕시코에서 미국으로 건너간 불법이민자의고되고 힘든 심경을 노래한게, 바로 이 '돈데 보이'라는 노래입니다. 혹시 단순히 사랑이나 이별 노래로 치부해버리셨다면,한번 우리의 탈북자들 행렬을 머리속으로 그려보면서 감상하시길 권합니다.
