Seoul, the center of Asia in 2030 (작문-퍼온글)

Could Seoul be the centre of Asia in business as well as culture?

Even comparing with arising Shanghai or populous Tokyo, is Seoul still good position to become the hub of Asia?

 

If you ask me like above, I would like to reply that Seoul has high potential to be the centre of the World as well as Asia.

 

And, if you ask me "Why?",

My detailed reply is like below.

 

Before the 18th century,  the power of country seems to be decided by strong leadership like Egypt Pharaohs, Chinese emperors, European kings.

 

However, After Industrial Revolution, the situation started to be changed.

The division of work and the invention of machines had realized the mass production in the manufacturing industry. Especially, garment factory started to make large number of woolen clothings. Through mass production, trading business was developed fast.

 Cheap rice and meal come into England, and Landlords could not make profit through cultivation of the rice. The landlords had chosen to raise lambs because the selling of wool to factory was more profitable than cultivating the rice or meal. As a result,  farmers had to move to urban area to find their jobs. Through division of work, the workers had been changed like a part of machinery. Even children had to started work from 4~5 years old because of low wages their parents could not support their children. Mass products needed new markets. They need cheap materials, labors, and new jobs for England. Other European countries was similar situation. They stared to plat colonies around the world.

Japanese was the on-ly Asian country which adapted western colony theory well.  

 

This sudden changes influence to philosophy in the 18th century. Although national wealth was increased, more people had suffered. Educated persons tried to find the reason and the solution.

Philosophy of  The 18th century  had given birth economics and ideologies.

 

In this wave, Korea had to get through Japanese colony and Korean war. After Korean war, Korea was on-e of the poorest countries in the world. When developed countries had enjoyed the fruits of industrial ages , Korea had just started moving from the 1st wave to the second wave.

 Because of  dramatic changes for 30 years, Korea had to overcome extreme hardships.

 

Now, the third wave is started, as Alvin Toffler predicted in 1980's.

And, Korea is the leading country in  IT and new technology area.

Although in the second wave, Korea was the last joiner,

in the third wave, Korea is on-e of  the leading groups.

 

Admittedly, Japan is more developed than Korean at the moment.

The speed of chnese developing is faster than Korea.

Both countries are much more influential countiries in the international world..

 

However, Korea has "Tension Culture".

Through division of the country, Korea society was difficult to enjoy full relaxation.
