3 years ago, I had a chance to discuss on this issue in my English class.

At that time, I was really shocked that many girls argued it is on-ly men’s duty to do military service since women give birth to a baby.

 

I really wondered how they could think so. How could they say a biological thing is equal to a cultural thing?

 

I insisted that I didn’t mind joining the army because I thought women should also know how to use arms and protect themselves from enemies.

 

It all happened because it was some few men who established the sexual discriminative constitution, and it is the majority of the men who are damaged by the law until now.   

 

I don’t understand why men blame women publicly for not doing military service. It’s not women’s fault or anything.

 

What do you guys think?

Women in the military go?

Debate about women in the army additional point are going to have to go to the army after

the abolished issues of our society more. Without any benefits, the Republic of Korea, men are obligated to go to the army must take the training. The Realization of the equality of the sexes and men in society now, the reality is that men on-ly go to the army that is unfair.Therefore, to supplement these problems army additional points the resurrection, or that women and men may like to go to the army.

Of course, men should be given benefits for military service, but it should not be thinking this is

benefit should be paid. After military service men and did not finish, and both men and women

think that the job should be in the equivalent position.

 

Recently, a student should go to military women were raised to the Constitutional petition. Of course women should be the duty of national defense emergencies, it means, and to prepare for emergencies, I think some of the military training is also required. Therefore, women with no

alternative but to send in the army unconditionally, a reward for military service after men needs

to think back to the institutional improvements.

Is Herald Korea really poor at choosing the good topic for this week?

On this week, there are lots of good and controversial topics as like the hearing for the new head of Korean prosecutor, or the recall of the governor of Jeju Island.

I cannot understand why the topic of this week is that, the female ~~.
What for this week?

Is there any reason to choose this topic for this week? haha
Or is that to avoid the serious and very controversial political topics?

Ha, if Herald wanted many people to participate the debate by English, it should select a better topic.
Don't you think so?

Anyway, sometime I seriously doubt the reason to choose the topic, and cannot understand why the topics for this debate are always non-sense.

many of men think military service is very hard, so on-ly men get in the military is discrimination.

yes. it is hard work as we know, but I think it is also valuable and funny experience.

so maybe women can enjoy and willing to do it also. but there are several problems on it.

 

I think we have eough soldiers.

Of course if women get in a military group, the service term will be shorten, 

but the physical ability of many women is much lower than men though it has the good meaning of equality.

SO only small numbers of women can be a military-the women whose physical ability is almost equal to men. - , and that`s inefficiency considering the expenses from change.

add for ir, we already have the volunteer system for women.

 

I mean we don`t have to make women serve a military putting up with much inefficiency. 

giving more incntives to men who does military service will be much better.

if women also should get in a military, I think women can work in certain field that needs less physical ability than work men do, if it exists.

when I first see this topic, it was just rediculous,,because I never thought that it could be a problem.

However I can undestand why they think It's kind of discrimination. probably womens have lower physical power and performance..

I have been seen the other topic about sexual discrimination. as you know boys have several handicap points in PEclass. In contrast, girls don't have handicap in art, music, SFLclasses. In that way it can be seen like discrimination. female want to serve equaily with male. 

so, I think women should also be obilgated to serve in the military.
